Ruihua Song

Dr. Song Ruihua, National Distinguished Professor of High-level Talents, is a tenured associate professor at Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence, Renmin University of China. She has been Lead Researcher of Microsoft Research Asia and Chief Scientist of Microsoft XiaoIce. Her algorithm completed the first collection of AI-created poems in human history, "The Sunlight Loses the Glass Window", on May 2017. From 2021 to 2022, as an academic leader, she released Wenlan image-text alignment models, which were transferred to products by Kuaishou, OPPO, etc. In 2023, as a core member, she released Yulan large language model. She has published more than 100 academic papers and applied for more than 30 patents. She has been nominated for the WWW 2004 Best Paper Award and won the 2022 First Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education. She serves SIGIR, ACL, KDD, WWW, EMNLP, CIKM, etc. as Track Chairs, Area Chair, Senior PC, or PC. Her recent research interests include multimodal understanding, creation, and interaction.
