Overview:

He has long engaged in the fields of information retrieval, data mining and machine learning, and takes a particular interest in interdisciplinary research and developing real systems. He has published extensively on prestigious international conferences and journals. He is the associate editor of ACM TOIS and IEEE TKDE, honorary chair of AIRS 2016, conference chair of CCIR 2017, area chair of SIGIR 2018, and PC chair of SIGIR 2020. He worked at Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) for 14 years and served in the capacity of group manager of the Web Search and Mining Group. He was elected as a national distinguished professor in 2013 and Beijing’s distinguished young scientist in 2018.
